EuroBLECH: Where Longstanding Relationships Lead to New Opportunities

EuroBLECH brought together people from across the sheet metalworking industry once again. For us, the exhibition was more than a chance to see machines and new developments. It was an opportunity to reconnect with customers, strengthen relationships and meet new people across our network.

Some of the most valuable conversations were with customers we had worked with before. In the past, we sold some of them a pre-owned sheet metalworking machine; from others, we bought one. It was good to see that these relationships can continue beyond a single transaction, sometimes opening the door to new opportunities.

A network grows when you keep in touch

The exhibition also gave us the chance to meet new contacts at manufacturers we had worked with before. That combination is valuable: we met new people while already having a shared history to build on.

In an industry where machines, production needs and market conditions keep changing, strong relationships matter. A conversation at a trade show does not have to lead immediately to a deal to be worthwhile. It can help us get to know each other, understand what is happening in the market and make the right connection when an opportunity arises.

Innovation continues to move the industry forward

Our conversations and impressions at the exhibition showed that the sheet metalworking industry continues to invest in innovation. Data is playing a greater role, and automation is becoming more advanced. These developments keep the sector moving and raise important questions about how manufacturers want to organise production and which solutions will support their needs.

EuroBLECH offered a glimpse not only of what is available today, but also of the direction the industry is heading. The details vary from company to company, but the focus on smarter processes, data and automation was clear.

A growing openness to collaboration

Another development that stood out to us was a greater openness to collaboration. More companies seem to recognise that they can achieve more by working together rather than operating in isolation.

Collaboration can take many forms. Sometimes it starts with a conversation, an introduction or sharing a challenge. The exhibition created plenty of opportunities for these exchanges and for discovering where interests and capabilities might align.

Strong attendance despite a challenging economy

EuroBLECH attracted a large number of visitors. That was particularly striking given the challenging global economy. The busy exhibition gave us the impression that there is still plenty of momentum in the sheet metalworking industry. Companies continue to meet, follow new developments and explore opportunities.

The international atmosphere was clear throughout the event. French, German, English and Dutch could all be heard across the exhibition floor. That mix reflects the range of countries and perspectives represented at the show.

Some conversations also brought unexpected or amusing moments. We heard Chinese visitors complain about the very low prices of machines from China. It was a memorable anecdote—and a reminder that competition and price pressure are part of conversations across the industry.

The value of EuroBLECH continues after the exhibition

A trade show is only a snapshot in time. Its value lies not only in what you see on the exhibition floor, but also in the conversations and connections that continue afterwards.

For us, EuroBLECH was an opportunity to reconnect with existing customers, expand our network and hear first-hand how the industry is changing. The combination of renewed relationships, new contacts and a sector that continues to innovate made the exhibition worthwhile. We look forward to continuing those conversations and seeing what opportunities emerge.
